Sometimes I write stuff down and it turns into a blog post about my family members or my run-of-the-mill life. One of the most surprising thoughts I ever had was, "I can't believe no one else's life has come to a screeching halt this week" when my dad died. I still remember where I was sitting when I thought it. Two years later, the same thought popped up. It's noteworthy because everyone has a "screeching halt" time (or many) in their lives, and I'm just here to write about it. I also know knock-knock-jokes.
